All practices are contracted to provide “essential services”, that is basic treatment of ill people.  We also provide the following “additional services”: elderley_BP_check

Chronic Disease Management (e.g. diabetes, asthma) - initial blood and urine tests will be carried out at Douglas Street Community Clinic.

Blood Pressure Checks

Child Health Surveillance - together with the health visiting team.

Drop in clinics for age 5 and under are available as follows:

  • Breast Feeding Support Group - Tuesday 13:30 - 14:30 at Fairhill Lifestyle Centre, Neilsland Road, Hamilton.

Contraceptive Services - specialist services such as implanon insertion are available with some of the doctors.

Maternity Services - in the ante-natal and post-natal period, together with the community midwives.

Cervical Smears

Freezing of Warts - and other small skin lesions.

We also hold contracts with Lanarkshire Health Board for the following “enhanced services”:bandaged_arm

  • Regular monitoring by blood test for patients on rheumatology medication.

Douglas Street Treatment Room

The following procedures are carried out at Douglas Street Treatment Room, Douglas street, Hamilton (by appointment) not at the practice:

Ear syringing, blood tests, injections, wound care, removal of stitches and first aid.

Opening times  Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:00, Friday 08:30 - 16:30.
